My Background
Hello, and thank you for being here.
My name is Wyman Chong, and I bring over 10 years of counselling experience supporting children, youth, individuals and families across both Hong Kong and Canada. I began my career in Hong Kong, where I worked in school settings providing emotional support, family counselling, and mental health education to students and their caregivers. After moving to Canada, I continued this work in both community-based roles and healthcare settings, including hospitals, where I’ve supported newcomers, individuals and families facing complex life transitions, grief, stress, and health-related challenges.
My education also spans two cultures. I hold a Bachelor of Social Work from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a Master of Social Work from The University of British Columbia. This diverse training helps me work with people from all walks of life and to understand how culture, language, and identity shape our experiences.
Outside of work, I love running, hiking, camping, cooking, and pottery that bring calm, creativity, and joy into my life. I enjoy having deep, meaningful conversations that help me and people reconnect with our strengths, explore our inner world, and find new ways to cope and grow.
My Values in Practice

I believe that every person, child, youth or adult, deserves to feel seen, heard and supported. Therapy is a gentle space to slow down, reflect and reconnect with yourself and with one another, so that we can work through childhood trauma, emotional regulation, life transitions, or the complexities of parenting. In my work, I offer a safe, compassionate space where you and your family can explore challenges, build on strengths, and move toward meaningful growth. My approach is warm, relational, and grounded in deep respect for your lived experience.
I support children, individuals and families through challenges such as anxiety, grief, trauma, emotional needs, and life changes. With specialized training in child-centred play therapy, family therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Satir Transformational Family Therapy, I help individuals express themselves in their own language and understand their inner world with more clarity and compassion.
Together, we’ll explore what feels stuck, what matters most to you, and where hope lives. I’ll walk beside you with curiosity, patience, and care, creating space where growth is welcomed at your pace. Clients describe me as calm and present. I believe in the power of genuine connection and am here to help you and your family feel safe, supported, and empowered.
